Roma Street Childcare Centre

PODCON were engaged to deliver the refurbishment of a Story House Early Learning education centre within a Brisbane CBD high rise building, including the stripout of the existing legal office. The project was the first of its type accredited under new regulations which were implemented mid-way through the eight-week construction programme.

Using a Design and Construct procurement model enabled us to provide insights that steered the ‘buildability’ of design; ensuring the as-built solution met code requirements, specifications and end user function without compromising design, cost or time commitments. Returning the office space to base building shell, the project required significant reconfiguration and rectification to meet the National Construction Code (NCC) as well as the Department of Education’s Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) specifications for service providers.
